Last Friday saw another afternoon of celebration for for KS1 and EYFS superstars. It was lovely to hear about so many successes in and out of school.
We also celebrated all our Walk the Wight Walkers - more to follow on that soon.
After impressing us all with their maturity and determination during the SATS last week it was lovely to see they Year 6s enjoying the sunshine with their favourite flavour of ice cream last Friday.

Last week our Year 5/6 girls cricket team headed to Newclose cricket ground to compete in two matches on a sunny afternoon.
The girls first match was against The Bay who we knew would be a strong opposition. Newport bowled first and had a very good session with the ball and great fielding by getting lots of wickets to put us a great postion when it was our turn to bat. Newport struggled with the bat and didnt manage to score as many runs as The Bay so didn't come away with the win, but a strong performance set the girls up perfectly for the next match against Brighstone.
Heading into the second match, the girls had a better understanding of the format of school cricket and started strong against Brighstone, no wickets were taken from Newport but we managed to keep Brighstone's batting score very low. Newport had a great session with the bats hitting some lovely shots and ensuring we secured the win.
A brilliant afternoon of cricket and a great introduction of schools cricket. Great job girls.
